Rep. Kevin Schmidt Responds to Passage of Megaprojects Bill
SPRINGFIELD – This week Illinois House passed HB 910, otherwise known as the Megaprojects Bill, with a bipartisan vote of 78-32.
“This bill protects local control and establishes a tool to bring jobs to our region,” said Rep. Kevin Schmidt. “I voted for this bill because I represent a border district, and we know all too well the opportunities that we lose out on because of better, business-friendly policy in neighboring states. We need every mechanism to grow our economy and put our skilled labor to work.”
“I know that my constituents’ top priorities are lowering property taxes and creating more jobs in the region. I’ll keep up the work to safeguard taxpayers as discussions continue and this bill moves through the legislative process.”
