It’s been a very busy week so far in the 114th District! Yesterday, we hosted a Coffee Talk event in New Athens and made several visits throughout the district. Here is snapshot of our day!
Coffee Talk Event
I appreciate everyone who attended this event, especially New Athens mayor Steven Newbold and Superintendent John Lawson from the Veterans Assistance Commission of St. Clair County.
New Athens Library
The New Athens library recently received grant funds for a summer reading program and events through the end of the year including a petting zoo and movie nights.

I met with library director Joel Pikora to discuss the grants they received to help fund new computers and eBooks.
House of Prayer to All Nations
It was a pleasure to meet with Pastor Anthony Pettiford and first lady Tina Pettiford in Washington Park. I had the opportunity to learn more about their community missions and services that would benefit residents.
