From increased tolls to sales tax increases, fee hikes, and now potential property tax increases, Illinois families are seeing costs increase in every direction. Governor Pritzker and the majority party must be held accountable for the high price of living and working in Illinois.
Between unchecked spending and agency mismanagement, we are seeing more government failures coming from the Pritzker administration. Taxpayers deserve more accountability from government and more transparency. I have joined my Republican colleagues to work everyday to call out wasteful spending, failed leadership, and bad policy.
The Governor points to Washington for rising costs, while Illinois families have faced 57 tax and fee hikes during his administration and continue to bear the highest overall tax burdens in the country.
Since Governor Pritzker took office, Illinois’ budget has ballooned by $16 billion and the quality of life has not improved for any Illinois citizen. We must hold Democrats accountable for overspending, overtaxing, and squeezing opportunities dry in our state.
