Norfolk Southern Railroad facility and America’s Central Port

Last Friday I toured the Norfolk Southern Railroad facility and America’s Central Port in Granite City!

Norfolk Southern has been moving the goods and materials that power the U.S. economy since 1827 and the America’s Central Port is one of the largest freight hubs in the Midwest. Illinois developed the Port in 1959 and has been utilizing the river, rail, and road to deliver grain, fertilizer, steel, petroleum, and other commodities, as well as multiple manufacturers and industrial operations.

The tour and watching everyone working to keep this Port operating was pretty amazing to see firsthand!
