Americans for Prosperity Illinois
I want to thank Americans for Prosperity for honoring me with this award. The work Americans for Prosperity does is extremely important for the future of our state and our country. Standing up for taxpayers should be a no-brainer and in a perfect world – one in which ALL legislators did their job and protected taxpayers – there would be no need for AFP to exist. But we don’t live in a perfect world and thankfully AFP does exist, and they are educating the public and getting citizens involved and holding elected officials accountable. We need a return to common sense and with the help of organizations like Americans for Prosperity – we will.

Ethics & Elections
Free, fair, and secure elections can help guarantee that We the People can have faith in our government.
From the city of Chicago to the farms of the central and southern region of the state, Illinois citizens expect their voices to matter and their votes to count. They also rightly expect that our elections are secure and transparent and that they can trust the results when the votes are tallied.

House Bill 460

The cost of living in Illinois could be affordable, but we have bills such as HB460 that adds onto the financial stress for many families. Taxpayers will be forced to subsidize college aid for individuals who are not citizens beginning January 1, 2026.
All House Republicans voted NO- we believe Illinois taxpayers need a break, not more tax hikes to fund the never-ending services to non-citizens.
No Tax on Tips
Tipped workers hoping to get a break under the “No Tax on Tips” rule are out of luck in Illinois. The state has opted out of the new federal provision and will continue to collect a state tax on tips. House Republicans put forward a number of bills this year to stop taxing tips in Illinois and provide some relief to our residents. Unfortunately, Democrats refused to stand up for tipped workers.

This week, I joined a meeting at Christian Activities Center in East St. Louis to talk about organizations and resources that are available to help improve the quality of life for everyone in the community and surrounding areas.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7 (Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day)
We remember that date which will live in infamy and honor all those who lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor.
