Day in The District w/ State Rep. Kevin Schmidt

Earlier this week, my team and I traveled across the 114th District and met with business owners, grade school students, food pantry volunteers, and constituents who attended my CUB event. We covered a lot of ground, had productive meetings, and really enjoyed the conversations we had with everyone!

Here is a snapshot of our day!
SATURDAY, APRIL 5 2025

Gold Star Spouses Day honors those who have lost their partners in military service by recognizing their sacrifice, resilience, and strength. Their loss is a reminder of the deep cost of service, and their stories deserve to be heard and remembered. Take a moment to reflect on their sacrifices and show gratitude for the families who carry on in the face of immeasurable loss.

How to file a witness slip
Witness slips are a vital piece of the legislative process. Before a bill is heard in committee, the chairperson will read who has submitted witness slips and whether they support or oppose the bill. This helps inform me and other legislators as to where Illinoisans and organizations stand, allowing us to make informed decisions when voting. Learn more about filing witness slips here.
Working Groups
Five House Republican working groups set out this session to work on legislative priorities for the 103rd General Assembly.
