Yesterday I hade the privilege to meet with some amazing constituents who are making a difference in the community! I met with members from Community Development Sustainable Solutions to discuss parent mentor programs.
This organization has a paid parents program that places parents in classrooms after proper training to assist teachers with advancements to certifications as a “Prestige Professional.” This approach helps address teacher shortage and advances parents into educational careers.
I also had the pleasure to meet Miriah Boyd, from Cahokia Heights High School. She created the platform K.I.N.D (Keep Increasing Nice Deeds) to inspire kindness and support victims of bullying. She is also Miss Illinois Juneteenth Title Queen!
Coffee Talk
I hosted a Coffee Talk Event on Monday to have open conversations with my constituents on issues that matter the most to them. We had productive conversations about how we can improve communities across the 114th District.
