State Rep. Kevin Schmidt attended the 2024 Fall Gathering of the Youth Mental Health & Wellness Coalition of St. Clair County. During this event, legislators sat on a panel and heard from youth, service providers, and other youth mental health advocates about how policy impacts them. Schmidt asked questions to learn more about what they’d like to see come out of Springfield.
Schmidt also highlighted the work he is doing to help, focusing on substance abuse and fully funding mental health resources. “It was a great opportunity to talk to youth about what they go through every day,” said Schmidt.
