Schmidt Attends 18th Air Force Change of Command

Today Illinois State Representative Kevin Schmidt visited Scott Air Force Base as Major General Corey J. Martin relinquishes command of the 18th Air Force to Major General Charles D. Bolton. Thank you to both of these gentlemen for their dedicated service to the United States.

As Air Mobility Command’s sole numbered air force, 18th Air Force ensures readiness and sustainment of approximately 36,000 active duty, Air Force Reserve and civilian Airmen at 12 wings and one direct reporting unit. With more than 400 aircraft, 18th AF supports AMC’s worldwide mission of providing rapid global mobility to America’s armed forces through airlift, airdrop, aerial refueling and aeromedical evacuation.

“I want to thank Major General Corey J. Martin for his years of service to this country. Since graduating from the Air Force Academy in 1991, he has had a career full of service, leadership, and devotion,” said Rep. Schmidt. “I wish Major General Charles D. Bolton the best of luck in leading the 18th Air Force and send warm wishes to he and his family as they embark on this journey.”
