Today at Freeburg Park, Illinois State Representative Kevin Schmidt gave certificates to the students who completed his summer reading program. In order to successfully complete the program, Kindergarten-6th graders were required to read ten books during their summer break.
Linda Mitchell from the Metro East Literacy Project teamed up with Rep. Schmidt and graciously provided a bag of books for the students who completed the program.
“I presented students who completed my Summer Reading Program with their certificates today at Freeburg Park! Linda Mitchell from Metro East Literacy Project provided all the kids with a bag of books, too.
“Congratulations to the children who completed my program and good luck in the upcoming school year!” said Schmidt.
